Toxicity.

The quality of being poisonous, does huge irreparable damage.
Am i to make everyone aware of the things that possess the ability to shorten your life to this small you actually accept the facts on life is too short to do this and that?
To be honest none of us would agree that their exist no such things that can do harm which cannot be corrected through monetary compensation or conditions cannot be put back the way they were.

Lets talk about people who smoke…
It has for now become important to bring one of the biggest issue in limelight.
What makes them opt for such a lifestyle that favors such toxic habits?

Most people start smoking when they are in their teens and are addicted by the time they reach adulthood. Some have tried to quit but have returned to cigarettes because smoking is such a strong addiction. It is a habit that is very difficult to break. There are many different reasons why people smoke.

Such toxicity in life leads people to a very dark place, a place where they can’t see the light at the end of the tunnel.
WHY?
They cannot see through the opaque matter they smoke.
It blinds and binds them to escape.
They are suffocated by those fumes but chose to stay.

  1. If it was so straightforward , no one would be addicted to anything… but the fact is world over there are millions of people addicted to so many things. You tend to associate addiction with cigarettes , drugs etc. but far from it, addictions span from drugs, food, power, greed.. u name it.
People start smoking because of peer pressure. We like to be accepted socially, because that is the nature of man. When people lack self esteem, they seek to address it through social acceptance. No one just picks up a cigarette or a bottle. Just like substance addictions, there is addictions to power, money etc.. but we don’t recognize those addictions because they are socially acceptable.

You pose a question that the medical profession has been trying to address for a very long long time. Its very easy to sit on the side lines and point fingers at addicts…

If you truly want to understand the nature of addictions then do some social work related to helping with addictions. By that I don’t mean your local politician…

    1. i agree absolutely sir.
But for this, “Its very easy to sit on the side lines and point fingers at addictsโ€ฆ”
Allow me to explain you that everything and anything that is harmful, is and should be subject to open criticism because the change starts from you first.
secondly, as far as social work is concerned, we can’t impose restrictions on anyone forcefully.
It is a matter making people aware because it’s all a game of our mind.

  2. As you may know, cigarettes contain nicotine, so if one falls prey to it for the first time they are bound to take a puff again. The simple reason being it gives a relaxing effect to your brain. The sad part is that teenagers feel that their life is a mess just because they are facing some problems and eventually fall prey to such stuffs. I hate the sight of that smoke. The sell of such goods (which only affect our health) should be stopped. Also teenagers should start thinking more, as the end of a relationship (which they now think as a big problem) is not the end of the world…

    1. Exactly getting addicted to such toxic substance is anyway not justified in any manner.
Its like they say people need am escape but that’s like not a permanent solution.
It some or the other way will effect your life and the problem will stay as it is.

    1. Seriously, whatever happens in one’s life why do people get so furious about it and ends up poisoning them?
I mean what is with this binge poisoning thing?
      Don’t get it at all.
I means addictions are hard to throw off but starting such toxic habits just because you got so called stress.

  3. I hope i can answer your question.
And this is not only related to cigarettes, but to alcohol, rapes or Molestation.
Gita: 2: 62, 63: “While contemplating the objects of senses (People, money, power, etc.) a person develops (excessive) attachment for them, and from such attachment selfish desire develops, and from it arises anger (perhaps out of frustration). From anger arises delusion (grandiosity, paranoia), and from delusion bewilderment of memory (cognitive functions deteriorate). When memory is bewildered, intelligence (wisdom) is lost (we begin to make stupid mistakes). When this happens, one falls into degradation (one becomes totally stressed-out).”
    Hope it satisfies.

    1. Helping in population control, something you forgot my friend.๐Ÿ˜‚
I agree with everything you said and I must say, well said.
But it still fails to give a satisfactory explanation about why people, despite watching the consequences of such toxicity in others life does rarely anything to take it out of theirs.

      1. If this fails, I think you haven’t understood the crux of the matter.
        ๐Ÿ˜….
I will give you an example. All addictions have single theory, the one which I have stated.
So. Have you heard about people not able to control when there favourite dish or chocolate is kept on table even they know it can harm their health.
So lets start from the beginning, consider you were small and your mom got you chocolate. So initially you liked the taste.(contact with the sense organ)
Now. You tasted it. So what happens when it got finished.
        Didn’t you think about it?
You thought about it even after it finished, you imagined its taste, you self talked that the chocolate was very tasty.(mental contemplation)
When you imagine and self talk related to objects of senses (taste, touch, or be it memories related to opposite sex).
Then you mentally create a situation in which you feel some desire to eat that chocolate again. This desire leads to more thoughts and these thoughts again fuel your desire.

So now when desire gets increased emotions rises in heart and body(look back in your life where you had emotional turmoil and failed to control yourself)
And when emotions rises(lust) , a person loses his discrimination power (which is not to eat that chocolate).
When so many thoughts and emotions rises, your power of discriminating the consequences becomes very less. (you succumb to eat that chocolate)
So this doesn’t happens over night, addictions are daily concious actions which automatically makes patterns in your brain. So these patterns lead to automatic actions (reason why people are addicted to mobile phones even they know its time consuming).

I think I explained quite much. So if you couldn’t understand still now, just think about any addiction you have and then read about what I have written in the earlier comment.
My this comment is so lengthy i think wordpress doesn’t confuse it to be a blog post. ๐Ÿ˜
        Good luck.

        1. Hahaha๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‡ I hope you read my previous comment.
Clearly, I said that I agree with your opinion, I do respect that.
Quite a healthy explanation I must say.
Every question and fact in my blog is open to criticism but clear your facts, sir.
Food and toxic things are 2 different things and being a mature person can you not differentiate between your addictions?
Again I do agree with your facts and do not question anything about it.
Really the explanation seems more of a blog than a mere comment but WordPress is a very professional platform, it for sure will never get so much confused.
          Thankyou for reading๐Ÿ˜‡
Also, keeping all your information intact and facts so better I wonder you studied psychology once.
Do you think such toxic addictions are not in human hands to escape?
Do you think that the continuation of such addictions are justified?
That because ‘addictions are daily concious actions which automatically makes patterns in your brain and these patterns lead to automatic actions particularly the reason why people are addicted to mobile phones even they know its time consuming, yes very true’, can such actions not be manupulated?
What is the work of rehabilitation centres?
If not rehabilitation, then self control in the beginning itself could help and awareness that they are not trapped, for sure and not until they really do give up.
          ๐Ÿ˜‡ ๐Ÿ˜‡

          1. I agree that toxic and food are two different things. But, what about those who were in depression they adapted these habits because of the pain they had.
No one wants to be addicted but when depression hits you every addiction seems to be a pleasure.
Secondly, (That wordpress thing) it was sarcasm.
Third. I’m an electrical enginner i haven’t read any psychology.
Fourth, it’s not in human hands but in the human mind, until and unless you don’t have knowledge of your mind and the ability to control your thoughts you won’t succeed much.
I remember you commented on my awareness post, maybe it was something you might have experienced.
But, everyone doesn’t have that experiences so they fail in awareness and thereby fail in controlling their addictions.
About rehabilitation centres, I think its not something I can comment as I don’t have any knowledge how government operates them.

            1. Sir, about depression what to say?
              Its a whole new thing.
Also if a person gets hit by depression, it doesn’t necessarily means he/she would start substance abuse.
Depression lies in the society in almost every form.
Its cliche to think that only people who smoke and whose petty relationship didn’t work out are the only ones suffering from it.
Secondly, about human minds and not human hands (its a figure of speech).
When we talk about our heart, do we really think all the emotions and feelings are felt from such a valuable organ that pumps blood, its about the mind in abstract form we talk, sir.
Third๐Ÿ˜‡ it was sarcasm too when I said it seems you studied psychology once๐Ÿ’œ
              Happy blogging๐Ÿ˜‡
